My Self-care Routine

In learning to love myself I also learned how to care for myself. Self-care is something I believe any and everyone should do. After all, RuPaul said it best “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else!” It may not be an easy road but its a journey well with it! Since everyone is different you may have to figure out what the best self-care for you but here is my routine.
Suds and Serenity
For me, one of the best things I can do is take a bath. Dim lights and a nice candle really romance myself. Taking a bath especially with essential oils and Epsom salt to help any muscle pain or soreness. Also from time to time, I like to enjoy an adult beverage. There is so much you can do when relaxing in a bath at least for me. I will watch videos on youtube and TikTok. As well as I can read up on articles, keep up to date with all things sex educations, and even blog. Taking a hot bubbly bath is a great place to either get some things done and multitask with self-care on my busier days. On the other hand, it may be a time for me to just take 30 minutes to an hour for just myself nothing to do just sit and enjoy.
Other Self-care Activities
After my breakup, I did a lot of things alone and that helped me learn what activities are great for my self-care. Hiking is one of the best activities that I love to go do by myself. Traveling is also an activity that I love to do solo. I love to lose myself in cities that I don’t know and ones I do. When traveling one thing that I love is looking at skincare. Skincare really helps my mental health as well as my skin. Like in my subscriptions post Fab Fit Fun is an incredible way to try more skincare than I would typically buy for myself. Even masturbation can be self-care and it has been proven to help with mental health. All of these help me deal with my mental health (a post on this later) and that is one of my favorite things about self-care.
Self-care is an incredible thing and I think that everyone should do it in some form. Whether that’s taking a bit to play video games and escape or taking a bath or reading. Whatever self-care looks like to you please make sure it’s a healthy form of it! It’s okay to not be okay and self-care makes those days better for me so give it a shot! Stay healthy, stay positive, and don’t be an asshole!
