My Favorite Lubricant Brands

Having covered the basics of lubricant let's talk about personal favorites. Working in a sex shop I have gotten to try a wide variety of lubes. To refresh there are three main types water-based, silicone, and hybrids. All types have their own benefits so I do like more than one type specifically. Covering at least one in every category so you can try what fits your needs.

Water-bases Lubes

Often water-based lubricant is what gets sticky during use, due to the water-absorbing into the skin. There are some that do not get as sticky but just like every soap or product we use reactions can happen differently. It may take some time for you to test and find your preferred lubricant. Most of what I use that's water-based is flavored for oral. Flavor lubes are only ever used for when you are tasting them with me. Intimate Earth is my favorite for fruit-flavored they taste like the real fruit! If I need to use a water-based for more I like Waterside since they only have 4 ingredients and it stays slick decently long in terms of water lubes.

My Go-To Lubricant

Uber lube is by far my favorite lubricant! There are only 4 ingredients and one is vitamin E and it feels so moisturizing after. I love it so much I use it on my tattoos as well, you can also use it on your skin and hair! Uber is a silicone-based lubricant which means you use a lot less than a water-based one. It comes in a glass bottle with a pump and feels like liquid silk. Uber lube is not on the cheap side due to the material it's made of there are more affordable options out there. Just know that when shopping for lubes silicone will be more expensive than water. That's where hybrids come in!

Meeting in the Middle

Hybrids bring a happy middle for those who want toy safety and longer-lasting lubes. Some of my favorite warming and cooling lubes are hybrid formulas. Hybrids are not exclusively water and silicone blends. System Jo has a water coconut oil hybrid which is very popular in the shop I manage. If you are using toys or condoms hybrid lubricant can be a great way to get some benefits of silicone while not compromising the materials. Trying different types of lubes will help your figure out what works for you and your partner(s). You may like different ones for different purposes and that's okay. Just know if you aren't satisfied with your current lube there are options! Until next time stay healthy, stay positive, and don't be an asshole!
